The Occupational Therapy Symposium aims to showcase alternative (OTher) praxes and innovative collaborations between disciplines and professions within and outside health; bring to light unique stories that forefront real interventions that speak to improving the quality of life for humankind.
The symposium will cultivate an atmosphere of dialogue and sharing as presenters are encouraged to submit presentations in all formats that include but are not excluded to:
  • paper presentations,
  • action based pieces,
  • auto-ethnography,
  • art installations
  • poetry/dance/videography
  • visual methodologies such as drama, narrative or photo-voice.
We hope that relationships formed between different professionals, whether in private or public, foreign or local, will go beyond the conference to inform current health practices thereby improving the quality of life of humankind in South Africa and worldwide.
