The student Editor's Forum goes online

An online student Editor's Forum has been set up in light of the forthcoming Captivate student media conference held annually at Rhodes University . The forum has been set up by the editors of Jo's Toolkit, the award winning student media recourse website, and the 2007 Captivate committee. Its aim is to facilitate discussions around issues faced within student media and acts as in interactive platform for student editors to voice their opinion.

In addition to this, the forum will also act as a space for the Captivate committee of 2007 to gain an insight into what student journalists would like to see at the Captivate conference next year. A National Student Editor's Forums will be held at the forthcoming Captivate conference as well with the agenda drawn up after consultation with as many student media publications as possible and it is hoped that this new online forum will form the basis for a discussion on the aforementioned agenda.

The forum is open to any users - especially those actively involved in student media and could be definitive of topics and issues to be presented during the 2007 Captivate student conference.

The Editor's Forum is powered and linked by Jo's Toolkit, a website which has been hosting high quality journalism resources and content from national and international contributors and aims at empowering student media.
