Contemplation of the working world And the fact that I will inevitably be A part of it- saddens me. I sag at the thought of how it’s the People around you who make life Worth breathing; worth experiencing; Worth living. And yet, what little time people have For each other these days. How to stop the tumble machine cycle; The vacuum cleaner drone of a selfish Everyday life; the ticking keyboard keys As time goes by; the fumes from our company Car, exhausting us in our atmosphere. Life without fellowship-relation-people-naught Indulgent-seeming-nature-friend-time… The first ‘luxury’ to be ditched when we’re busy… Which-we-always-are. An empty ‘in tray’ A sealed ‘deal’ An immaculate house Scores of cash No one at your funeral |
