Final year Mechanical Engineering students showcased their design projects this Friday at the UNITE / School of Engineering Building at the Howard College Campus.
As part of their academic programme, students had to design and build various projects within specified operational requirements. The students, who were organized into 20 project groups, put on an exhibition that was attended by fellow students, their families, members of the public and the media.
There was significant interest in the event, as several projects had attracted funding from industry partners and had the potential for practical application. Some major highlights of the day included the award-winning Apalis Solar Car and Baja SAE Car, a Rally Car Simulator and a robotic bird.
