The French discipline at UKZN along with the Association for French Studies in Southern Africa (AFSSA), recently donated the Arbre  à Palabres (palaver tree), dubbed the ‘Poetry tree’, to the French Department of Eden College during an entertaining French ensemble performance by its students.

The Palaver tree was made by the organisation, Umcebo Trust, with the added help of refugees from French speaking countries in Africa and Eden College’s French students.

This tree was decorated with poetry written by pupils of French from around the world as part of a competition organised within the context of the 13th World conference of the International Federation of Teachers of French held in July this year in Durban and generously supported by UKZN
