Project Title:

Conversion of octane to styrene, octanol and other value added products

Description:Octane is a straight-chain alkane with the chemical formula CH3(CH2)6CH3 .Octane became a significant and practical compound shortly after the discovery of petroleum during the Industrial Revolution replaced traditional fuels such as animal fats and whale oil. Octane and its isomers make up most of the composition of gasoline, which is an engine fuel refined through the fractional distillation of petroleum.

The proposed study will be focused on Conversion of the Octane to Styrene, Octanol and other value added products obtained by the oxidation and oxidative dehydrogenation methods, using catalysts like Vanadate, Molybdate supported on Hydroxyapatites and other materials.
