Welcome

Professor Holger B. Friedrich, supervisor of the Catalysis Research Group at UKZN.

Welcome to the homepage of the Catalysis Research Group (CRG) at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN), South Africa.

Our group strives to be at the forefront of research and development in the field of reactions catalysed in both a homogenous and heterogenous medium. To this end, we have initiated research projects; through our portfolio of post graduate students; in a wide range of topics, from precious metal catalysis (Gold, Iridium, Ruthenium, Platinum) to Zeolites and other catalysts of ever increasing relevance to modern chemistry.

The Catalysis Research Group at present consists of 12 MSc and 7 Phd students, and 2 post doctorate fellowship. The group is further subdivided into a Homogenous Group and a Heterogenous Group.

For a listing of the personnel, research topics and activities of our Research Groups visit the relevant sections of our website.
